Studying history allows students to observe and understand how people and societies behaved. For example, we are able to evaluate war, even when a nation is at peace, by looking back at previous events. History provides us with the data that is used to create laws, or theories about various aspects of society.
History courses will begin by introducing various topics taught in US schools such as US states and their capitals. Answering questions such as What’s the story behind the state? How do humans change their environments? And Why of all places did that huge mountain form there? Students will learn a variety of new terms and apply them to understanding the concept of history. Students will have the opportunity to interact one on one with the teacher or can be placed in a group setting with other students where they will learn through playing games, mapping, timelines, writing, speaking and providing their own thoughts and opinions. A gross amount of material will be used to evaluate progress throughout the classroom.
